The ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival, a project of the Haus für Poesie in Berlin, was established in 2002 as the first and largest international platform dedicated to short films based on poetry. It offers poets, filmmakers, and festival organizers a venue for creative exchange and interaction with a broad audience. The festival showcases the diversity of the poetry film genre through a competition, film programs, readings, retrospectives, exhibitions, performances, workshops, and other events. Over 1,000 entries from more than 90 countries were submitted for the 2025 festival, which includes an International Competition and thematic programs featuring animations, fiction, experimental films, and documentaries.
