The ZAFTA ACADEMY organizes the Zanzibar Film and Television Awards (ZAFTA), an annual event dedicated to promoting excellence in Zanzibar's film and television industry. The awards encompass various events, including film screenings, a content market, live performances, workshops, and forums, with the aim of stimulating original and creative production work. ZAFTA seeks to tell Zanzibar stories through local talent to both African and international markets. The Academy also conducts over six learning and networking events annually for its members, such as masterclasses and panel discussions.
