The Wales One World (WOW) Film Festival, founded in 2001, is Wales' longest-running film festival and an IMDb-qualifying event, showcasing international cinema to audiences across Wales. Held annually in March, the festival presents a program of feature films, documentaries, and shorts, often as Welsh or UK premieres, at various venues including Aberystwyth Arts Centre and Pontio Bangor. Since 2023, the festival has been 100% female-led, with at least half of its annual programming directed by women, reflecting its commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equity. In 2021, WOW expanded its Green Screen strand into Ecosinema, dedicated to films and conversations about climate, land, justice, and resilience.
