The LA Women in Film Festival is an event dedicated to championing female identifying filmmakers and female-driven storytelling. It is an affiliate of the LA Film Festivals organization, which was established in 2001 with the biannual LA Comedy Festival and has since grown to encompass 12 independent film festivals. The festival accepts submissions from female identifying directors and writers, projects with a majority female crew (at least 50%), or films featuring female-driven narratives across all genres. The broader LA Film Festivals organization aims to discover and promote new talent to both the public and the entertainment industry, while also showcasing the work of established professionals.
