The Warsaw International Film Festival (WFF), also known as Warsaw Film Festival, is an annual international film festival held every October in Warsaw, Poland. Established in 1985, it is organized by the Warsaw Film Foundation and is accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) as a competitive non-specialized film festival. The festival aims to present global cinema to Polish and international audiences, fostering communication and understanding across different cultures. It features various competitive sections, including International Competition, Competition 1-2 for first and second feature films, Free Spirit Competition for independent films, and Short Films Competition, whose winners are Academy Awards eligible. The festival also highlights films from Eastern Europe and includes the CentEast Market, focusing on films from that region.
