The Venice Shorts Film Festival, also known as Venice Shorts of Los Angeles, is an IMDb-qualifying, seasonal competition and annual festival with live screenings held at the Fine Arts Theatre of Beverly Hills and various other art venues in Los Angeles. Founded by a team of American and Canadian filmmakers in Venice Beach, California, its objective is to discover and recognize independent arthouse shorts, screenplays, and indie artists from around the globe. The festival promotes award winners to thousands of film industry professionals through LA Indies magazine and other platforms. Notable alumni and participants have included Oscar winners and nominees such as Gus Van Sant, Jeremy Irons, Jessica Chastain, Eric Roberts, and Ross Kauffman.
