UNICA hosts an annual international film festival, where national federations, including Switzerland, present a selection of films for competition. An international jury awards gold, silver, and bronze medals, and a special Fellini Medal is presented for works promoting tolerance and peace. Switzerland is an active member nation, and the country has hosted UNICA events, such as the 2022 festival in Locarno and the upcoming 2026 competition in Lugano.
