The uMgungundlovu Film Festival (UFF) is an annual event held in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, focused on empowering local and African filmmakers from historically marginalized communities. It prioritizes women, youth, and people living with disabilities, aiming to address gender and generational disparities within the film industry. The festival serves as a platform for showcasing authentic African stories and amplifying underrepresented voices, contributing to the diversity of South African cinema. The 7th edition, in November 2025, includes film screenings, skills development workshops, and an awards ceremony, fostering a supportive environment for creativity and promoting the distribution of South African films.
