The Uganda Film Festival (UFF) is an annual film event established in 2013 by the Uganda Communications Commission to promote and develop the local film industry. The festival provides a platform for content creators to showcase their work, stimulate the film and video industry, and facilitate international trade and investment in Ugandan cinema. UFF activities include film exhibition markets, trainings, workshops, screenings, and an Awards Gala night, which recognizes excellence in various categories of Ugandan film. The festival has grown to include diverse narratives, student films, and animation, with its 11th edition in 2024 operating under the theme "Local Stories, Global Impact." The 12th edition is scheduled for May 26th – June 6th, 2025.
