The Tromadance Film Festival is a free, annual independent, and non-competitive film festival organized by Troma Entertainment. Founded in 1999, it was initially held in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah, operating concurrently with the Sundance Film Festival as an alternative for independent cinema. Tromadance distinguishes itself by not charging submission fees for filmmakers or admission fees for attendees, positioning itself as a festival "of the people, for the people, and by the people." It focuses on showcasing independently produced films made outside the traditional Hollywood studio system. Since 2014, the festival has primarily been located in New York City and the Mahoning Drive-In Theater, with some iterations in other locations like Detroit.
