The Trieste Science+Fiction Festival is an annual multidisciplinary event held in Trieste, Italy, dedicated to the "fantastic" genre, encompassing science fiction, fantasy, and horror, along with experimental languages and new technologies in cinema, television, and visual arts. Founded in 2000 by the Research and Experimentation Centre La Cappella Underground, it relaunched the spirit of the International Science Fiction Film Festival previously held in Trieste from 1963 to 1982. The festival is a member of the Méliès International Festivals Federation and presents prestigious awards, including the Asteroide for the best international feature film and the Méliès d'argent for the best European feature and short films.
