The Tokyo Anime Award Festival (TAAF) is an international animation film festival held in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, which evolved from the Tokyo Anime Award established in 2002 as part of the Tokyo International Anime Fair. Since becoming an independent festival in 2014, TAAF aims to discover and cultivate new talent, provide inspiration to both audiences and creators, and contribute to the development and promotion of animation culture and industry globally. Organized by the Association of Japanese Animations and the TAAF Executive Committee, and co-hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the festival screens high-quality and original animated films from around the world. It features various competition categories, including awards for feature and short animation, as well as an Anime Fan Award chosen by public vote.
