Its mission is to highlight the diversity of animation through different styles, schools of work, and artistic expressions, aiming to stimulate creativity and encourage dialogue and collaboration within the animation community. The festival also features retrospectives of animation masters, meetings with viewers, workshops, and masterclasses with renowned animation creators. Since 2019, it has included a nomination for "Best Work of Applied Animation" to feature new animation forms like performances, interactive media, and virtual reality.
