Tata Steel Foundation, based in Jamshedpur, has organized and supported various film festivals with a focus on tribal stories and issues. For instance, it has been involved in the "Samuday Ke Saath" national short film competition and festival, which recognized filmmakers in different categories. Additionally, Tata Steel's Tribal Cultural Society, an initiative of Tata Steel Foundation, organizes the "Samvaad – A Tribal Conclave" which includes the Samvaad National Short Film Festival, providing a platform for documentary films on tribal issues and inviting young filmmakers to participate. In August 2022, Tata Steel Foundation organized a film festival based on tribal stories to mark the International Day of the World Indigenous Peoples, screening about 20 films and facilitating Q&A sessions with directors.
