The Sydney Film Festival is an annual competitive film festival held in Sydney, Australia, typically over 12 days in June. Recognized by the Federation Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films (FIAPF), it is considered one of the longest-running events of its kind globally. The festival showcases a diverse program including features, documentaries, short films, retrospectives, and industry talks, and in 2025, it screened over 200 productions from more than 70 countries to an audience exceeding 130,000. It presents various awards, with the prestigious Sydney Film Prize being its top honor. As of 2023, Nashen Moodley serves as the festival's director.
