The Student World Impact Film Festival (SWIFF) is an annual international film festival founded in 2020 by student Mark Leschinsky, focusing on films created by student filmmakers with an emphasis on social issues. Certified as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in March 2022, SWIFF aims to empower student filmmakers to use their creativity for social change and provides a platform for showcasing diverse perspectives on global challenges. The festival typically runs for about a week, screening films that cover environmental sustainability, social justice, human rights, and cultural diversity, and also hosts discussions, Q&A sessions, and workshops. SWIFF has garnered entries from young filmmakers in 149 countries, assisting over 10,000 filmmakers annually, and in 2023, received the Diana Award for its commitment to humanitarian work in the arts.
