The Sofia International Film Festival (SIFF) is an annual film festival held in Sofia, Bulgaria, typically in March. Established in 1997, it is recognized as the biggest competitive film festival in Bulgaria. SIFF is the only Bulgarian film festival accredited by FIAPF as a competitive specialized feature film festival, and it is also recognized by FIPRESCI. The festival aims to showcase the best contemporary world cinema to local audiences and present regional Bulgarian and Balkan cinema to international audiences, fostering cooperation between filmmakers. In 2007, *Variety* listed SIFF among the Top 50 unmissable film events worldwide. The festival includes various competitions, such as the International Competition for first and second films, International Documentary Competition, and the Jameson Short Film Award for Best Bulgarian Short Film.
