The Settimana Internazionale della Critica (SIC), also known as Venice International Film Critics' Week, is an independent and parallel section of the Venice International Film Festival. Organized by the Union of Italian Film Critics (SNCCI), it was founded in 1984 by Lino Micciché and focuses on selecting debut films by emerging directors. The program typically includes seven debut films in competition and special events out of competition, and since 2016, it has also featured SIC@SIC, a competitive selection of seven short films by Italian directors.
