La Semaine de la Critique, also known as Critics' Week, is a parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival, dedicated to discovering and supporting new filmmaking talents. Established in 1962 and organized by the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics, it showcases first and second feature films, as well as short films, from around the world. Held annually in Cannes, France, during the Cannes Film Festival, it aims to provide greater visibility and support to emerging cinematographers, offering various awards for both feature and short films. Many renowned directors have had their early works presented at the Semaine de la Critique.
