The Seattle Black Film Festival is an annual event showcasing provocative films and works about the Black experience from independent filmmakers. Formerly known as the Langston Hughes African American Film Festival (LHAAFF), it is a major program of LANGSTON and is housed at the historic Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute. The festival has been running for over twenty years, making it the longest-running festival of its kind in the region. It features film screenings, hands-on workshops, panel discussions, and discussions with filmmakers, industry professionals, and local community leaders, celebrating Black brilliance from emerging and established filmmakers worldwide.
