The SCINEMA International Science Film Festival is an Australian film festival established in 2000, dedicated to showcasing international science-related drama and documentary films, aiming to forge links between the sciences and the arts. It accepts entries from filmmakers worldwide, including professional, amateur, and student works, across various categories such as short films, features, documentaries, animation, and vertical video. Originally hosted by CSIRO, the festival has been run by the Royal Institution of Australia and will be managed by STEM Matters in 2025, with support from CSIRO and others. SCINEMA is considered the largest international science film festival in the Southern Hemisphere, with screenings held across Australia and even in Antarctica, attracting significant audiences through both live and streaming events.
