The San Sebastián International Film Festival (SSIFF) is an annual FIAPF A-category film festival held in September in Donostia-San Sebastián, Basque Country, Spain. Founded on September 21, 1953, it gained FIAPF accreditation as a competitive international film festival in 1957. The festival has played a significant role in cinema history, hosting international premieres such as Alfred Hitchcock's *Vertigo* and the European premiere of *Star Wars*. It awards various prizes, including the Golden Shell for Best Film, Silver Shells for Best Director and acting performances, and the Donostia Award. José Luis Rebordinos has been the director of the festival since 2011.
