The San Francisco Short Film Festival, also known as SF Shorts, was launched in 2006 as the San Francisco International Festival of Short Films. It showcases independent short films, encompassing various genres from drama and comedy to documentary and experimental works. The festival has since merged with the 28-year-old San Francisco IndieFest, combining its curatorial vision with IndieFest's presentation expertise to offer a week of global short films at historic San Francisco art house theaters. The event presents a diverse range of shorts, with consistently well-attended programs, and awards a cash prize for the audience-decided "Best of the Fest".
