The San Francisco International Film Festival (SFIFF), organized by SFFILM, is the longest-running film festival in the Americas, having been founded in 1957 by Irving "Bud" Levin. Held each spring for approximately two weeks, the festival showcases around 200 films from over 50 countries, emphasizing current trends in international film and video production, often highlighting works without U.S. distribution. It is an Academy Awards® Qualifying Festival for short films and a Cinema Eye Honors Qualifying Festival for nonfiction filmmaking. The festival also features the Golden Gate Award juried competition, live music and film events, industry discussions, and educational programs. The 67th edition took place from April 24–28, 2024.
