The Goya Awards, also known as Premios Goya, are Spain's main national annual film awards, presented by the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain. Established in 1987, these awards celebrate the best in Spanish and international cinema, often compared to the Academy Awards in the United States. The awards are named in honor of the 18th-19th century Spanish painter Francisco Goya.
