The Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation & Technology (PFCAT) is an annual event held in Portland, Oregon, dedicated to showcasing films and animations by global filmmakers and animators. Formerly known as the "International Festival of Cinema & Technology" since its founding in 2002, the festival was rebranded in 2022 to reflect its new home in Portland. PFCAT features a variety of genres, alongside VR experiences, dome film screenings, and other technology showcases. The festival includes screenings, panels, presentations, parties, and an annual award ceremony, with the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) often serving as a key venue. For instance, the 2023 festival presented 199 films and animations, including numerous world and regional premieres. The 2025 edition is scheduled to take place from August 6th to 10th at OMSI, featuring over 170 films and animations, as well as panels with industry experts.
