The Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP), translating to "Festival of Filipino Films," was an annual week-long film festival organized by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) from 2017 to 2022. Its primary purpose was to celebrate and promote Philippine cinema nationwide by exclusively screening new, high-quality Filipino films in all regular cinemas across the country, offering a dedicated platform for local productions. The festival evolved over time, adapting to challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic by shifting to an online format in 2020 and focusing on short films in 2021. The PPP aimed to foster dialogue among filmmakers, distributors, theaters, and audiences, showcasing diverse genres and encouraging the production of quality local content. The festival was paused after 2022 due to budget constraints, with a potential revival under consideration for 2024.
