The Nottingham International Microfilm Festival (NIM) was a film festival established to introduce the Chinese film industry phenomenon of microfilms to new audiences in the UK. The festival, which ran for at least two annual editions in October (2015 and 2016), was a collaboration between Nottingham City Council, the University of Nottingham, and Nottingham Trent University. It aimed to raise the profile of microfilms and showcase their application outside of China, providing a platform for filmmakers and businesses through public screenings, networking opportunities, and masterclasses. The festival included various events and awards, fostering engagement between the established Chinese sector and UK filmmaking talent.
