The Nirmal Pandey Smriti Film Festival is an annual event established in May 2020 by film and TV director Anil Dubey and Chauhan in memory of the late Indian Bollywood actor Nirmal Pandey, known for his roles in films like "Bandit Queen". Organized annually on Pandey's birthday, August 10, the festival aims to promote and celebrate the art of filmmaking while honoring his legacy. The first edition was held online in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by events in Etawah (2021), Pandey's birthplace Nainital (2022), Lucknow (2023), and Bhopal (2023). The festival screens short films, documentaries, and feature films, providing a platform for young filmmakers.
