The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) is an American professional service organization founded in 1955, dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of television and the promotion of creative leadership for artistic, educational, and technical achievements within the television industry. Headquartered in New York City, NATAS operates with national membership and local chapters across the country. It is responsible for distributing several categories of the Emmy Awards, including the Daytime, Sports, News & Documentary, and Children's & Family Emmys. NATAS is a sister organization to the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which collectively administer the various Emmy Awards.
