The Moondance International Film Festival is an American independent annual film festival founded in 1999 by Elizabeth English. Typically held in Boulder, Colorado, with past events in Los Angeles and New York City, the festival aims to honor filmmakers, writers, and composers who promote awareness, diverse perspectives, and address social issues. Established in the wake of the Columbine High School massacre, its initial goal was to provide an empowering platform for underrepresented storytelling. The festival encourages bold, innovative, and experimental work, accepting submissions for film, written works, and music from artists globally. For its 2024 season, the festival is operating as an online-only event without a theatrical venue.
