The Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival, also known as Kyiv International Film Festival "Molodist," is an international film festival held in Kyiv, Ukraine, and is recognized as one of the most significant specialized cinema events in Eastern Europe by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). Established in 1970 as a two-day event for student short films, it has grown to become the largest film festival in Ukraine. Its primary objective is to promote young professional cinema, featuring competitive programs for student films, first short films (fiction, animation, documentary), and first feature films. Over its history, the festival has provided a platform for early works by now-renowned directors such as Fred Kelemen, Tom Tykwer, François Ozon, Danny Boyle, and Stephen Daldry. The festival typically takes place annually, with recent editions scheduled for late October to early November.
