The Melbourne Women in Film Festival (MWFF) is a volunteer-run festival dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and promoting the work of women and gender-diverse screen practitioners from Australia, Aotearoa/New Zealand, and the wider Moana region. Launched in 2017, the festival aims to address gender imbalance in the screen industry by showcasing diverse screen storytelling through screenings, panel discussions, workshops, and educational programs. The festival presents a hybrid program in venues and online, with its 9th edition returning to ACMI and Fed Square in 2025. In 2026, MWFF will celebrate its 10th anniversary.
