The Maryland International Film Festival-Hagerstown is an annual event held in downtown Hagerstown, Maryland, which first took place in 2011 after becoming a 501(c)3 in 2009. Organized by filmmakers and marketing executives, its mission is to support independent filmmakers, showcase films from around the world, and foster filmmaker networks. The festival has been recognized as a "Movie Magazine's 'Top 50 film festivals worth the entry fee'" and features Hollywood director Joe Carnahan as its creative director. A portion of its proceeds is donated to charities.
