The Mar del Plata International Film Festival is an international film festival held annually in Mar del Plata, Argentina. It is recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) as the only competitive feature festival in Latin America and the oldest in the Americas. The festival is organized by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) and features various competitive sections, including International, Latin American, Argentine, and Altered States competitions. Awards given include the Golden Ástor for Best Film and Silver Ástor for Best Director, Actress, Actor, and Script. The event aims to promote cinematographic activity and facilitate meetings within the national and international film community.
