The Manhattan Short Film Festival is an annual global event where audiences in over 500 cities across six continents view and vote on a selection of short films. Founded in 1998 in New York City, the festival receives over 1,600 entries from more than 75 countries each year. Finalist films are given a qualifying run in Los Angeles, making them eligible for the Academy Awards. Often promoted with the tagline "One World - One Week - One Festival," it takes place annually from late September to early October.
