The MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2024 took place from October 19 to 24, 2024, in Mumbai, India, presenting over 110 films from more than 45 countries and showcasing diverse genres and languages. This edition was the first under interim festival director Shivendra Singh Dungarpur and notably operated without a title sponsor, leading to a downsized scope compared to the previous year. The festival's main competition focused on filmmakers from South Asia (excluding Pakistan) and the South Asian diaspora, with programs including "South Asia Competition," "Focus South Asia," "World Cinema," and "Dimensions Mumbai" for short films. Films that screened included winners from prestigious international festivals like Cannes, Berlin, Sundance, and Venice. Payal Kapadia's "All We Imagine As Light," which won the Grand Prix at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, opened the festival.
