The Malta Short Film Festival is a cultural program that serves as a platform for local and international filmmakers, also stimulating discussion about media literacy. The Malta Film Foundation produced eleven editions of the festival between 2008 and 2019, and since 2020, it has been produced by Mr. Tony Parnis. The festival showcases Maltese and international short films across various genres, including fiction, comedy, animation, documentary, horror, thriller, and fantasy. It has been recognized with the EFFE label for excellence in festivals across Europe multiple times. Each program is streamed online and aired on Malta's national television station, TVM, with films discussed by a panel of judges.
