The LA Shorts International Film Festival, also known as LA Shorts Fest, is one of the world's most prestigious and longest-running short film festivals in Los Angeles, established in 1997. Held annually in downtown Los Angeles at L.A. Live, with screenings at Regal Cinemas L.A. LIVE Stadium 14, the festival screens over 350 films and attracts thousands of attendees, including industry professionals and emerging filmmakers. It is accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, making it an official qualifying event for the Academy Awards®, as well as for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) short film awards, the Canadian Screen Awards, and the Goya Awards. The festival is notable for having numerous past winners go on to receive Academy Award nominations and wins, and it is the only film festival with seven award categories recognized by the Academy Awards.
