The LA Film Festival was an annual film festival held in Los Angeles, California, which ran from 1995 until its discontinuation in October 2018. Originally known as the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival, it was operated by the non-profit Film Independent since 2001. The festival showcased independent, international, feature, documentary, and short films, as well as web series, music videos, and episodic television. It served as a qualifying festival for the Independent Spirit Awards and the short film categories of the Academy Awards. After nearly two decades, Film Independent ceased the traditional programming process for the festival, restructuring some elements into standalone events.
