The Kazan International Film Festival "Altyn Minbar" is an annual international film festival held in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. Originally established in Moscow in 2004 as an international forum for Muslim filmmakers, it has been held in Kazan annually since 2005. The festival's motto is "To the dialogue of cultures through the culture of dialogue," and it aims to promote universal cultural and moral values, as well as to foster an objective view of Muslims and Islam. While initially conceived for Muslim filmmakers, the festival now selects films based on their promotion of tolerance, peacemaking, and constructive multicultural dialogue, irrespective of the filmmakers' religious affiliation. The festival includes a competition with prizes in categories such as Best Feature Film, Best Animated Film, Best Director, and Best Documentary, among others. The 20th edition of the festival took place in September 2024, and the 21st edition is scheduled for September 5-9, 2025.
