The JCDC FiWi Short Film Competition is an annual event organized by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) that began in 2021, aimed at promoting Jamaican culture through film. Participants are tasked with creating short films, typically three to five minutes in length, often based on Jamaican proverbs or specific themes. The competition includes screenings of shortlisted films, some of which are made available on the JCDC's YouTube channel, and culminates in an awards ceremony. In 2024, the competition received a record 47 entries, with 17 films ultimately shortlisted.
