The Iris Prize is an international LGBTQ+ film festival and prize held annually in Cardiff, Wales. Launched in 2006 by Berwyn Rowlands, it focuses on films by, for, about, or of interest to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or intersex audiences. The festival is notable for offering the world's largest LGBTQ+ short film prize, valued at £40,000 since 2025, which enables the winning filmmaker to create their next project. The event features a programme of screenings, including competing films and feature films, along with panel sessions and an awards ceremony. Shortlisted Best British films also receive broadcast on Film4 and streaming on Channel 4.
