The International Film Music Critics Association (IFMCA) Award is an annual accolade presented by the International Film Music Critics Association, a professional organization comprising online, print, and radio journalists specializing in film and television music. These awards recognize excellence in musical scoring for film and television, with categories such as Film Score of the Year and Composer of the Year. Established in 2006, the IFMCA Awards are considered by many to be a significant precursor to the Academy Awards in the absence of a dedicated guild for composers. The association also contributes to major international film music festivals, including those in Tenerife, Úbeda, Kraków, and the World Soundtrack Awards in Ghent.
