The International Ecoperformance Film Festival (IEFF) is an event established in 2021 by Brazilian choreographer Maura Baiocchi, designed as an artistic response to 21st-century eco-political challenges. The festival operates at the intersection of cinema, performing arts, and ecology, promoting short films from interdisciplinary artists who explore the relationships between environment, body, ancestry, and memory within various landscapes. IEFF has achieved global recognition, utilizing both in-person and online formats, and has showcased films from over 50 countries across six continents. Screenings have taken place in countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Romania, Australia, the US, and Germany. The festival features categories including Ecopoet[h]ics, Eco-Drama, Eco-Animation, and Eco-Documentary, focusing on films that strive to overcome anthropocentric paradigms.
