The Inland Empire 48 Hour Film Project (Inland Empire 48 HFP) is a regional filmmaking competition where teams write, shoot, and edit a short film in just 48 hours based on assigned genres, characters, props, and lines. The completed films are then screened at a local cinema, with recent premiere screenings taking place at Harkins Theatre Mountain Grove in Redlands, CA. The winning "Best Film" from the Inland Empire competition advances to Filmapalooza and becomes eligible for a screening at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner. The event encourages participation from filmmakers of all experience levels, aiming to foster community and provide opportunities to create and showcase new work.
