The Houston Filmmaker Showcase is a monthly event celebrating Houston's film community, hosted at the historic River Oaks Theatre. Organized by the Southwest Alternate Media Project (SWAMP) and the Houston Cinema Arts Society (HCAS), it features a range of local films, including narrative, documentary, experimental, and animated works, followed by filmmaker Q&A sessions. The showcase aims to provide a platform for local filmmakers to present their work, receive audience feedback, and network with industry professionals. Monthly audience choice winners are eligible for the annual Best of the Year Showcase and receive additional perks.
