The HollyShorts Film Festival is an annual Academy Awards-qualifying independent short film festival based in Hollywood, California, founded in 2005. It showcases a diverse selection of short films, typically 40 minutes or less, from around the globe, and also features a screenplay competition for short screenplays and TV pilots. The festival is Oscar®-Qualifying in several categories, including Best Short, Best Live Action, Best Animation, and Best Documentary. Recognized by MovieMaker magazine as one of the "Top 50 Film Festivals Worth The Entry Fee," HollyShorts holds screenings at venues such as the TCL Chinese Theatres and presents awards in over 25 categories. A notable requirement for selected films is that they must be a Los Angeles Premiere.
