The Heartland International Film Festival (HIFF) is an Academy Award®-qualifying film festival held annually in October in Indianapolis, Indiana. Hosted by the nonprofit organization Heartland Film, Inc., the festival was first established in 1992 with the mission to connect audiences and filmmakers to experience the transformative power of film. Over the years, it has grown from a four-day event showcasing fewer than 20 films to an 11-day celebration that typically features hundreds of film screenings and numerous visiting filmmakers. HIFF has been recognized by MovieMaker Magazine as one of the "Coolest Film Festivals in the World" and consistently ranks among the "Best Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee".
