The New York Latino Film Festival (NYLFF), presented by HBO, is a prominent urban Latino film event established in 1999 by Calixto Chinchilla. The festival aims to build audiences for Latino cinema, support the film community with professional development, and foster relationships for Latino talent by showcasing a diverse slate of features, shorts, documentaries, and experimental films by, about, and for the U.S. Latino community. It has been described as the nation's premier and most diverse Latino film festival, bringing together thousands of movie fans and industry executives annually. In addition to film screenings, NYLFF programming has included events like the Futuro Digital Conference and a Latinos Stand-Up Comedy Competition in partnership with HBO Latino.
